Originally released in 2003, A Great Dorset Experience now forms part of this bumper four disk pack, which includes Life in the Play Pen.
A Great Dorset Experience celebrates the continuing success of the world’s biggest heritage event, The Great Dorset Steam Fair.
We take a look at how this unique show has developed over the years. Starting from humble beginnings, we see scenes of early shows from the legendary Stourpaine Bushes site. More up to date footage from the current Tarrant Hinton show ground is also included.
The amount of exhibits that have been seen at the show over the years is immense and here we focus mainly on a selection of tractors, commercial vehicles and of course steam engines that have made a visit over the years.

Life in the Play Pen concentrates purely and simply on the Heavy Haulage Arena action as it was at the 2004 Great Dorset Steam Fair. Now affectionately referred to as “The Play Pen”, the Haulage Arena is one of the shows favourite attractions and is always a hive of activity.
Here Heavy Commercials, Steam Cars, Steam Wagons and Steam Rollers can all be seen plus Diesel and Steam Haulage.
