Marshalls of Gainsborough
![]() |
In 1848 William Marshall established a business in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, specialising in the machining and production of mill gearing. As the company began manufacturing agricultural equipment and threshing machines, this led to an expansion of the business, which resulted in Marshalls of Gainsborough becoming one of the country's largest producers of steam engines and associated equipment. The name Marshall became known for the superior engineering of products, which reached the four corners of the world. This video concentrates on the design features and development of the more commonly recognised Marshall threshing machines, steam engines and tractors. |
