New Zealand Steam Diary

New Zealand Steam Diary

This three disc set chronicles the New Zealand steam scene between October 2008 and February 2009.
It begins with the rail tours arranged as part of the event celebrating the centenary of the opening of the North Island Main Trunk and concludes with the annual ‘Art Deco’ weekend featuring Ja1271 and vintage coaches from Steam Incoporated.
Heritage railways are visited and there is an extensive feature on the Kingston Flier with a visit from K92, one of the locomotives that ran on the original trains (This railway has now closed, awaiting sale).
A second feature is the gala weekend at The Glenbrook Vintage Railway with visiting engines.
Other excursions on the mainline feature J1211 and Ja1275 on part of the three week tour organised by The Mainline Steam Trust. Single trips including Wab795, Ka942 and Ja1271also feature.
Each disc is over one hour long and the programme is arranged in chronological order.
